Dolby Mobile Experience – MWC 2012 Posted: 29 Feb 2012 02:09 PM PST We had the opportunity to visit the Dolby booth at the MWC 2012. We have two videos - An interview with Simon Arnold and another video demonstrating the Dolby mobile experience. The Dolby experience was really interesting as they had adjusted the room setting to resemble the Academy Awards (Oscars). The first video is an interview conducted by FoneArena's Michael Hell (@MichaelxHell) with Simon Arnold from Dolby. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uAwisY3awE httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsjqaeOw30M The second video shows the Dolby experience that you can expect from smartphones that support the Dolby technology. They use the Nokia N8 and Nokia 500 to demonstrate the audio quality. [gallery link="file" columns="4"]
Sony Xperia NXT family hands-on Posted: 29 Feb 2012 02:04 PM PST Sony announced two new Xperia NXT smartphones at MWC a couple of days ago and today we had a chance to go hands-on with the new devices, the Xperia P and Xperia U, alongside the already announced Xperia S. Read on for our hands-on impressions. With the new Xperia NXT family, Sony has introduced a new design language that looks stunning. While the new Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U were developed under Sony Ericsson, the far reaching influence of Sony are clear. The translucent bar near the bottom of the phones for example reminds me of a couple of their Bravia TV models with 'floating' frame construction. Read on for our hands-on impressions. Xperia S Heading into 2012, the Xperia S is Sony's flagship smartphone. Sony (Ericsson) has arrived late into the multi-core game, and the Xperia S is their first ever Xperia smartphone with dual core processor. In an age of quad core processors, a flagship with dual core may seem odd. Still a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor running at 1.5 GHz clock speed isn't something to sniff at. Not that it was surprising as my experience with the Xperia Arc reveals that Sony Ericsson has optimised their Android ...
Nokia 808 Pureview hands-on impressions and more photos! Posted: 29 Feb 2012 11:17 AM PST In a swift move to change the landscape of mobile photography forever, Nokia unveiled their latest camera flagship device on monday here at MWC. The intention was simple: End the Megapixel race. And end it on top. Having said that, Nokia today blew the competition out of the water by announcing the Nokia 808 Pureview, a Symbian Belle-powered, 41(!!) Megapixel device, with an obvious heavy focus on photography and videorecording. We were lucky enough to get an invite to a Q+A/hands-on session with the great people from Nokia Connects, and here's what Nokia's new camera flagship device is all about: It's chunky, it's heavy and it's promising to take extraordinary pictures. Let's get right to the main selling point: The camera is spectacular. While still being a work in progress, the photos we have seen so far, no matter if viewed on the 4" ClearBlack AMOLED display (only 640 x 360 nHD resolution though), or blown up to a huge poster on the wall. The levels of details are unlike anything else we have seen so far. The imaging components of the Nokia 808 Pureview read like out of a digital camera spec sheet: a total sensor size of 41 Megapixel, ...
Video : LG Optimus 4X HD Hands On Posted: 29 Feb 2012 10:56 AM PST This is the hands on for the LG Optimus 4X HD powered by the Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad Core processor. The Nvidia Tegra 3 processor features 4 PLUS 1 technology which basically has 5 cores. The PLUS 1 core comes into action when the other cores arent being used. So for gaming etc, the phone might use the 4 cores but for basic phone operations, it'll just use the single core and thus conserves battery. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xChiiVXJtQI The Optimus 4X HD shares the Tegra 3 chipset with smartphones such as the ZTE Era, Fujitsu "Ultra-high spec smartphone" etc. The 4X HD is one of the fastest and smoothest performing phones that we've seen at this MWC. This can be seen clearly in the Nvidia Gaming demonstration.
Video : LG Optimus Vu Hands On Posted: 29 Feb 2012 10:50 AM PST Here's the hands on video for the LG Optimus Vu 5" smartphone. LG's attempt to enter the phone-blet segment along with the Samsung Galaxy Note. The Optimus Vu features a 5" screen with 4:3 aspect ratio. The ratio is quite unusual indeed. Companies gave up on the old standard to move to 16:9, 16:10 or even 21:9 ratio widescreens. However LG says the main advantage of having such a ratio is the ability to view magazines with ease. This gives it a squarish form factor. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3kHTYIjDGE The phone is quite wider than the Galaxy Note as well but it does feel thinner. The build quality is perhaps better than the Note as well but the aspect ratio will take some getting used to.
Photo Gallery: Fujitsu Arrows F07-D Posted: 29 Feb 2012 10:41 AM PST Another discovery from the Fujitsu booth: The Arrows F07-D (check out our hands-on video!), the world's current thinnest smartphone! Coming at you with an insane 6.7mm body, the F07-D in hand almost feels like it is missing some parts. Despite the crazy thin hardware, the Android 2.3-powered Arrows F07-D still features some decent hardware, including a 1,4GHz Qualcomm Single-core processor, a 5 Megapixel camera, which photos will be displayed on a 4" WVGA AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass-secured 480 x 800 pixels and a 1.400 mAh battery. If that isn't enough, the F07-D is dust- and waterproof! [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
Fujitsu IS12T Windows Phone Photo Gallery Posted: 29 Feb 2012 10:13 AM PST Hot on the heels of our Hands on Video, here are some pictures of the funky Fujitsu IS12T! Despite the rather dull name, the IS12T packs a punch. This eye-popping pink device was hidden at Fujitsu, as well as the Microsoft booth and surprised us with some rather nice features. The IS12T packs a 13.2 Megapixel camera into a sleek 4" device. Furthermore, like almost all Fujitsu devices, it is water- and dustproof, making sure you won't run into trouble on the next outdoor trip. Packed inside is a 1 GHz processor and 32GB of memory, all running on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango! [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
Quick Look : Fujitsu Waterproof Technology Posted: 29 Feb 2012 10:11 AM PST Here are some videos and photos that show Fujitsu's waterproof technology in action. Fujitsu has incorporated its waterproof technology in it's phones such as the F07-D and IS12T and tablets such as the F01-D. The devices have the ability to be submerged underwater upto 30 minutes at a time at a depth of 1.5 metres. The devices can be submerged even while they're switched on and they still work perfectly well when they're out of the water without having the need to wipe them. The devices have a special paint coating that prevents water from sticking onto the surface. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3PEAyCvRoo httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShYhi8FJxvM [gallery link="file" columns="5"]
Posted: 29 Feb 2012 09:49 AM PST Here we take a quick look at the features of the HTC One X. If you're looking for an HTC One X photo gallery, you can find it here. The HTC One X is a very powerful smartphone. It has certain features which are unique to it. The camera application allows users to capture a series of images one after the other continuously at very fast speeds just by holding down the shutter button. Users can also take photos while recording videos. While the photos taken are at 5 Megapixel and not the maximum available 8 Megapixel, it still is a very interesting feature to have and not many phones have it. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBQ8JIpYUSk HTC are not ruling out the possibility of the ability to take 8 Megapixel photos while recording video since it's something that can be added easily with a firmware update. The Beats audio integration is even better compared to the first generation of HTC devices with Beats audio.
Video : Fujitsu Tegra 3 Smartphone Hands On Posted: 29 Feb 2012 09:39 AM PST Here's a hands on video of the Tegra 3 powered Fujitsu smartphone. We couldn't find an official name for the device. It was just listed as "Ultra-high spec smartphone" and we think that Fujitsu is yet to decide on a name. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6XwadIrFkg The phone has some really impressive specifications as the name suggests: Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 4.6" Display with HD (1280x720 pixels resolution) 1.5GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad Core Processor (4 PLUS 1 Technology) 13.1 Megapixel Camera Now there's been a little confusion with the screen resolution on the device as well. But it seems that most people have gotten the screen resolution confused with the ability of the device to playback Full HD 1920x1080 Pixels video. We haven't received the official confirmation from Fujitsu regarding the screen resolution, but we are in touch with them and we will pass on the information to you as soon as we get it.
| Posted: 29 Feb 2012 09:18 AM PST NEC is a major player in the Japan for its line of Android smartphones. The company had a few of its handsets behind glass here at MWC and we got a chance to take a look at them. First up we have the Android Cloud Communicator which is a 7" tablet from NEC. We also had a few more concept tablets alongside the LT-B+. The internals of the 7" tablets were mostly the same with 1.2Ghz Dual Core processors and several ways to maintain connectivity including iRDA which remains a popular standard in Japan. Next we have the Media W series of phones which combine large screen sizes with high end specs for mid range Android users. The Media Z marks the top most line of handsets which includes LTE and extremely large screens. There is also a focus on superior optics. Check out the remaining photo gallery below. The Google booth is and has been the best booth ever since it started. It's fun, exciting and energetic. The best way to take your stress off during the hectic MWC schedule. You have the Android slide through which visitors could slide and get their photo taken at the bottom of the slide. You can then collect the photo at the entrance free of charge. The Android Bar gives visitors free smoothies and drinks. Often related to the operating systems in use by Google. For example , the Honeycomb drink was very popular during MWC last year. Visitors get free demos of the various services and products that use Google "power". You can get free Android pins. You can also get free Android dolls and toys. While they were given on a first come first serve basis last year, this year you've to try your luck at a gift machine in order to get one of them. | Photo Gallery: Fujitsu’s Tegra 3-powered Quad Core Smartphone Posted: 29 Feb 2012 08:49 AM PST We're back from the Fujitsu booth with some fresh photos from Fujitsu's unnamed Arrows Quad Core Smartphone, which undoubtedly captured our attention. A look at the specifications list shows the reason why, as it's simply one long list of the latest must have features in Android smartphones! NVIDIA Tegra 3 clocked at 1.5GHz + 12GPU, a 4.6 inch 720p display (which looked a bit dull on this proto), a 13.1 megapixel with an insane maximum ISO of 25.600, fingerprint reader, Android 4.0 ICS, water- and dust-resistant, the list just never stops. Fujitsu, bring us one as soon as possible, pretty please! [gallery link="file" order="DESC"] |
Video : Fujitsu Arrows F07-D Hands On Posted: 29 Feb 2012 08:27 AM PST The Fujitsu F07-D Arrows holds the current title of the thinnest smartphone in the world, measuring in at just 6.6mm in thickness at the thinnest point. However that doesn't meant it isn't a powerful phone. For it's insanely slim profile, it does pack quite powerful hardware inside. The video explains some of the interesting features of the smartphone. It is also waterproof like the other recently announced Fujitsu smartphones and tablets. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UZTbSXyVrI The display is capable of taking some battering thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass technology. The phone will be available in the first half of 2012 in Japan under the NTT Docomo network.
Posted: 29 Feb 2012 08:26 AM PST And here's the third of HTC's three new devices introduced this monday at MWC'12, the HTC One V. Undoubtedly inspired by the HTC Legend, the One V is the essential one! Unfortunately, there were no working devices on display, so weren't able to test Android 4.0 with Sense 4 on it, but we still managed to get some photos of the hardware for you. The One V will stay an entry-level device, but will come with upgraded hardware, including a 1 GHz single-core processor, 3,7 inch screen with 480 x 800 pixels resolution, a 5 Megapixel camera, packing the same HTC ImageSense technology like it's bigger brothers (including the BSI sensor for better low-light captures and f/2.0 aperture) and a 1500mAh battery! No software, but lots of aluminium in this gallery! [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]

It introduced the Eluga which plans to conquer global markets, starting off with a European launch. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta9RePysCmw The Panasonic Eluga has a very sleek design and is one of the thinnest smartphones out there. It does not have the fastest processor or the highest amount of RAM but its performance and features should suffice for most consumers. It is quite fast and the waterproof technology works brilliantly. The phone feels quite solid and has a great build quality even though its really slim and lightweight. |

Here's the hands on video for the LG Optimus Vu 5" smartphone.
Another discovery from the Fujitsu booth: The Arrows F07-D (check out our hands-on video!), the world's current thinnest smartphone!
Hot on the heels of our Hands on Video, here are some pictures of the funky Fujitsu IS12T!
Here are some videos and photos that show Fujitsu's waterproof technology in action.
Here we take a quick look at the features of the HTC One X.
Here's a hands on video of the Tegra 3 powered Fujitsu smartphone.
NEC is a major player in the Japan for its line of Android smartphones. This post contains video's and photo from the Google Booth at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2012. We also have a exclusive video review of a Google product for you. We had promised you an exclusive review of an Android device. Check out the video below to see it : httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLspEimhGQQ There's ...
This video showcases the Fujitsu Arrows Tab F01-D . It is a 10.1 inch tablet which is part of the Arrows range of devices from Fujitsu. The 10.1 " screen has a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. There is a rear 5 Megapixel camera and a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera. It's 11.3mm thick and weighs in at around 597 with the battery. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awi2EXJUUwU It has Dolby technology to give a full surround sound experience to the user. It has support for LTE. The tablet has waterproof and dustproof capabilities as well. It has a single colour variant called Eternal White and it's the same as the device in the photo and video.
We're back from the Fujitsu booth with some fresh photos from Fujitsu's unnamed Arrows Quad Core Smartphone, which undoubtedly captured our attention. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
The Fujitsu F07-D Arrows holds the current title of the thinnest smartphone in the world, measuring in at just 6.6mm in thickness at the thinnest point.
And here's the third of HTC's three new devices introduced this monday at MWC'12, the HTC One V.
Panasonic caused excitement when it announced that it was planning to come back to the global market after a gap of few years.
The Fujitsu IS12T is the first phone in Japan to run Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. It is also the first waterproof and dust proof Windows smartphone. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUxkAP97uDA httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df-NYHxC4EA The main feature highlights of the Fujitsu IS12T are: Windows Phone 7.5 OS 3.7" TFT TOuchscreen Display withWVGA (800x480 Pixels) Resolution 13.2 Megapixel Camera with Milbeaut Image Processing Engine, Autofocus and LED Flash 32GB Built In Memory Dustproof and Waterproof Technology Citrus, Magneta and Black Colour Variants
It was a good day for HTC this monday at Mobile World Congress, with the introduction of the One series of flagship devices. The HTC One S, this ultra-slim, 7,8mm Android device is the little brother of the One X, but that doesn't mean Android fans will be getting less bang for their buck. Equipped with a 1,5GHz dual core processor, Android 4.0 with HTC Sense 4, a 4,3 inch qHD display (540x960 pixels), Beats Audio, and the same 8 Megapixel f/2.0 camera, the One S is set in the middle, and according to HTC, features beauty and brains! Enjoy our photos by the HTC One S! [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
Here are some fresh new photos of the brand new HTC One X, HTC's latest and greatest Android flagship phone. Equipped with a powerful 1,5Ghz Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 1 GB of RAM, this beats audio powered smartphone is setting out to attract users not only by pure specs, but also by looks.
