iOS 5.1 now available for download

Apple announced the new iPad today along with a new Apple TV. Along with these announcements came the news that iOS 5.1 is finally rolling out today to compatible devices. While the update is still not showing up in iTunes , it is available through OTA (Over The Air).  Make sure you back up your device before updating it. One good news for iPhone 4S users is that battery life is reportedly improved with this update. We observed the same in a beta build. Apple launches the New iPad , Retina display is a go !

At an event in San Francisco , Apple just announced the next version of its revolutionary tablet. Powering it is the new A5x chip which comes with quad core graphics and will be used to push graphics to the all new 2048 x 1536 "Retina Display". The back camera is now a 5MP unit with BSI tech which should allow it to take quite decent images should you decide to take some with a giant tablet. The New iPad is also the first to be equipped with LTE radios which should allow for some extremely high speeds on supported carriers like AT&T , Verizon. Bluetooth has also been upgraded to the 4.0 spec. Battery life remains same and you can expect upto 9 hours with 4G switched on , 10 hours without. The New iPad is priced at $499 for the 16GB WiFi model.  $599  for the 32GB model and $699 for the 64GB model. iPad Wi-Fi + 4G for either AT&T or Verizon will be available for a suggested retail price of $629  for the 16GB model, $729 for the 32GB model and $829  for the 64GB model. Do note that these are still US prices and there is no word on availability ...

Apple has announced the new iPad today with a bunch of new features and surprisingly , the old iPad or the iPad 2 is not going away from the shelves. Apple has announced that the 16GB Wi-Fi version of the iPad 2 will get a $100 price cut starting today and will start selling at $399 instead of the usual $499. The new iPad will start at $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version. If you wanted to get an iPad and are willing to spend only about $400 ,  now is a great time to pick one up. But if you are a techie who lives in the cutting edge of technology , save up that extra $100 and get yourself the new iPad. It should be totally worth it. Major downside of the iPad 2 is the lower resolution screen compared to the retina display on the new iPad.  Also you will be missing 4G / LTE support amongst other things. If you want  an iPad and are on a strict budget , we just thought of alerting you about the deal. Currently the price drop is applicable in the US only  but we guess the cut will be applied ...

Airtel offers Double data on GPRS packs in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh

Opera Mini for BlackBerry is finally available from the BlackBerry App World. Now you can download Opera Mini easily from the App World and also upgrade it automatically when a new version is available. The Opera Mini 6.5 for BlackBerry was launched last November that has new features such as data usage view and bookmark import. The Data Usage view keeps count of how much data you are spending and saving in total, or for a specific time frame. It is said to save 90% of data cost. The data tracker is located under the "Help" menu that gets you total usage and also temporary usage. You can add bookmarks or new Speed Dial shortcuts for easy access to your most used website in the new version. Qualcomm adds new games to Snapdragon Game Pack

Qualcomm has announced 4 new games optimized for the Snapdragon processors. The Snapdragon Game Pack features more than 100 games for Snapdragon-enabled, Android-based smartphones and tablets. New games in Snapdragon Game Pack The Reem is a mixed martial arts (MMA) game featuring three-time UFC champion Alistair "The Reem" Overeem. It will be released in early April exclusively on Snapdragon devices for a year. Reign of Amira is designed and developed by Qualcomm's in-house gaming studio, where Princess Amira battles her enemies to retain the lost glory of the Desert Kingdom. It will showcase the latest graphics and gaming capabilities of the Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and its integrated Adreno 320 GPU. It will be available to users for free later this year. The Ball is highly anticipated game that features Snapdragon's integrated Adreno GPU with high-resolution visuals and will be first available to Snapdragon devices running on Android for six months.
