Posted: 12 Mar 2012 12:31 AM PDT

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has announced that they would use common Access Point Name (APN) for its GSM post paid and prepaid customers across Delhi and Mumbai. The Access Point Name is a configurable network identifier used by a mobile device when connecting to WAP/Web services, MMS or Internet services on GSM/3G networks. They were using separate APNs for Delhi and Mumbai customers which was also separate for post paid and prepaid subscribers. Now the entire customer base will be converged on a common APN of mtnl.net. The existing customers can use their current APN without any problem but is always preferable to change to the new APN. Customers can dial 1503 to get new APN settings. You can also visit MTNLmumbai site to get the settings.
